Temporary Employment Opportunities at TEMESA | April 2024

The Tanzania Electrical, Mechanical & Engineering Services Agency (TEMESA) is looking to fill temporary positions in their Eastern and Southern Zone.

Open Positions:

• Marine Technician (10 Positions)
• Ferry Captain II (10 Positions)
• Ferry Deck Assistant II (10 Positions)
• Air Conditioning Technician II (10 Positions)

Applicant Qualifications:

For Marine Technician:

• Applicants must have either:
  • Form IV education and a two-year government-recognized Marine technician certificate, OR
  • Form IV education and a three-year government-recognized Marine technician certificate, OR
  • Form IV education and a Trade Test I certificate from a government-recognized institution
• Must hold a Certificate of Successes Rating Forming Part of an engineering watch course
• Must have completed six months of training in marine lifesaving and swimming
• Must be a Tanzanian citizen

For Ferry Captain II:

• Applicants must have either:
  • Form IV education or an Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSEE), OR
• Must hold a mandatory certificate according to STCW95 and Rating Forming Part of a Navigation Watch (RFPAW)
• Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree/Higher Diploma/Diploma in one of the following fields (advantageous): Marine Science, Marine Engineering, Mechanical/Civil Engineering, Electronics/Electrical Engineering
• Must be a Tanzanian citizen

For Ferry Deck Assistant II:

• Must have Form IV education
• Must have completed at least six months of sea time in maritime service and hold Mandatory Courses/refresher certificates issued by government-recognized institutions or the International Maritime Organization (IMO)
• Must be a Tanzanian citizen

For Air Conditioning Technician II:

• Applicants must have either:
  • Form IV education and a two-year government-recognized Air Conditioning technician certificate, OR
  • Form IV education and a three-year government-recognized Air Conditioning technician certificate

General Application Conditions:

• Applicants must be under 45 years old
• Application letters must be accompanied by copies of relevant certificates, two passport-sized photos, and a CV
• Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews
