The Role:

As a Secondary English Language Teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping the linguistic and literary skills of our students, guiding them through the Cambridge International English Curriculum for Lower Secondary and IGCSE levels. You will be instrumental in fostering a passion for the English language, encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and a global perspective in your students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in English, aligned with the Cambridge International Curriculum.
  • Foster a nurturing classroom environment that supports diverse learning styles and encourages student participation.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and personalized support to ensure academic and personal growth.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and the integration of innovative teaching methodologies.
  • Participate in school events, professional development workshops, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Collaboration with the arts department and involvement in interdisciplinary projects would be welcomed, especially for candidates with a background or interest in the performing arts.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field, with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching English Language and Literature to secondary students, specifically within the Cambridge Lower Secondary and IGCSE frameworks.
  • A dynamic, creative, and enthusiastic approach to teaching, with a strong ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering a supportive and collaborative learning environment.
  • Familiarity with digital learning platforms and resources.
  • A background or strong interest in performing arts is desirable, though not essential.
