The key purpose of this job is to maintain equipment in an as new condition, assuring reliable performance to standard through inspections, corrective actions to restore equipment back to inherent condition, problem solving to address root cause of failures and loop closure and provide input into the ZBB maintenance budget.
Key roles and responsibilities:
Health, Safety and Environment:
Comply with safe, health and environmental procedures and legislation
Maintain safety and housekeeping standards
Identification of unsafe practices through SIO’s
Safety inspections conducted
Safe maintenance practices audited
Adherence to PPE policies
Maintenance tools are in good working order
Maintain and repair plant and associated devices:
Locate plant, equipment, spares and relevant documentation and or systems
Plan and prepare the job
Carry out repairs / maintenance
Operate workshop equipment
Work in Teams:
Communicate effectively in teams
Contribute to self and team development
Work orders complete:
Backlog
Generate tags for follow on work
Satisfied customers – no rework
Scope Measures:
Maintain a safe and healthy working environment
Comply with safety, health and environmental procedures and legislation
Maintain safety and housekeeping standards in workshop, artisan workstation and place of work execution
Maintain, repair equipment, improvements and optimise plant and associated equipment
Locate plant, equipment, spares and relevant documentation / systems
Plan and prepare the maintenance jobs and plant shut-downs
Schedules completion – job allocation overview of quality of workmanship by other maintenance specialist and artisans on responsible equipment
Continuously improve (optimise) planning process
Allocate and plan maintenance tasks
Work in Teams
Communicate effectively in teams
Contribute to self and team development
Apply the VPO principles and practices
All work is carried out using the VPO principles
Profile:
Minimum NTC5/N5 Technikon qualification
Trade test qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Millwright
National Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) (advantageous)
Minimum 3 – 5 years in a packaging bottling production environment
1-3 Years technical mechanical/electrical and bottling experience in a FMCG environment
FMCG experience as artisan
Packaging maintenance workshop experience.
Bottling hall and production experience.
Machine specific experience
