The Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS) is an independent government agency that was created to facilitate the hiring process for public service positions. Public Service Recruitment Secretariat was established by the Public Service Act No. 8 0f 2002 as amended by Act No. 18 of 2007, section 29(1).

The Public Service Recruitment Secretariat’s duties
PSRS’s primary function is to make public service recruitment easier. The Public Service Cap. 298 of 2002, as revised by Amendment Act No. 18 of 2007 section 29 (1), states that the PSRS’s duties include the following: 

Look for a variety of experts with specialized knowledge and prepare a database of those individuals to facilitate hiring; Register professionals and graduates for the convenience of reference when filling open positions;

Announcing open positions in the public service;
Hire the right specialists to help with the interview process.
Assist employers with a range of recruitment-related issues and carry out any other actions or tasks as assigned by the Public Service Minister.
