Transport Logistics Supervisor at C.Steinweg Bridge | September 2024

Position: Transport Logistics Supervisor  

Key Requirements of the Job:

Management of vehicle movement and administration including Management of vehicles from dispatch to off-loading, ensuring that the transit and off-loading time KPI is achieved; managing transport documentations; Management of the claims, demurrage and standing time administration process; Ensuring good Haulier and Internal customer relationships in line with company policy and procedure.

Main Duties:

• Establish and maintain relationships with hauliers through regular engagement
• Assist with the on-boarding of hauliers onto the Bridge Transport Telematics System
• Ensure KPIs for route transit times and offloading are achieved
• Supervise transport controllers
• Monthly Reporting on transit times achieved
• Ensure that haulier invoices are processed in order that they are paid timeously
• Action of haulier payment queries to minimize delayed payment in line with SOPs 
• Ensure the required POD documentation is received from hauliers and sent to customers 
• Reconcile and process regional profit share and agency charges in line with agreements where required
• Establish and maintain relationships with Internal Customers
• Ensure that customers are invoiced as soon as documentation is in place to do this
• Assist to ensure that the TMS and related processes are “Live and Accurate” at the end of each day in regions that are dealt with
• Administration of the claims, demurrage and standing time process timeously and effectively to minimize costs and maximize recovery where possible
• Promote operational excellence.
• Supervise day to day transport operations in the division
• Perform transport logistics activities as assigned by General manager transport
• Plan & coordinate transport operations with controllers and trackers and set deadline of accomplishment
• Strategically plan activities to achieve divisional objectives
• Attend transport requisitions on time and implement to required standard 
• Understand operational targets and plan of achievement.

Other Special Requirements;

• Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in transport logistics, shipping logistics management, Clearing & forwarding or related field of study
• 2+ years of experience in progressively transport logistics management
• High Level of Computer Literate
• Microsoft Package (Word, Excel, Power point,)
• Microsoft E-mail & Outlook program
• Knowledge of special computer programs/software’s; SAP, BOS, TANCIS etc
• High Level Communications & Interpersonal skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data verification.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to ensure timely invoice processing.
