Role Purpose:
The trade marketing officer is responsible for assisting on the enhancement of the products under the brand (Simu, Boda (Tuktuk)) in assigned region (s) through brand audits, merchandise distribution and placement, as well as establishment of relationships with various partners to create opportunity for co- branding and upselling.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with Brand and Marketing Team on the development and coordination of the trade development plans for all locations of operation
  • Assist on the Coordination of the management of trade issues as observed through trade audits, escalating in a timely manner as appropriate
  • Assist on establishing co- branding opportunity with partners to enhance brand management efficiencies across all countries for all products
  • Work closely with Deputy Country Manager, Head of Brand and Communication and Marketing team to develop business insights borrowing from trade activities and business performance to advise the best advise on how to attack the market
  • Assist on Championing all co- branding initiatives across all countries, all products to optimum brand positioning
  • Assist on coordinating the placement of signage and all applicable merchandise in stores, Godowns and Dealerships in all stores across Tanzania to ensure 100% alignment with brand guidelines and business expectations, as advised by brand audits
  • Assist in conducting regular audits of Watu Credit shops to ensure brand compliance in terms of signage, display materials, and overall visual aesthetics
  • Spends time in the field to understand the customer environment and their behavior
  • Assist in the mechanic development and respective tools and materials needed to deploy the respective programs
  • Keep track of all marketing materials and ensure smooth distribution across all stakeholders

Working relationships

Internal Relationships:

The Trade Marketing Officer will be:

  • Directly accountable to the Deputy Country Manager.
  • Required to work and collaborate with various cross-functional teams and departments

External Relationships:

  • Maintain robust relationship with Watu dealers, suppliers, customers, dealers, media, government, other organizations and
  • All other relevant stakeholders

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

  • Return On Marketing Investment
  • Timeliness in the submission of project and reports
  • Branding and visibility ratio
  • Branding materials quality
  • Feedback from clients on quality of merchandise as well as placement as per brief
  • Timeliness in the development of training plans, achievement of training plans as signed off

KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or relevant field from a recognised university
  • 3 years of relevant work experience. Work experience in the marketing department or with a Marketing Agency will add value.
  • Ability to translate brand and marketing strategy into simple and relatable initiatives for internal and external audiences
  • Must actively demonstrate the values of Watu
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • PR, Media, Advertising and Creativity skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with problem solving attitude
  • Experience in leveraging customer analytics and segmentation to drive business growth
