Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund supplies 1 million smallholder farmers with the agricultural services they need to make their farms vastly more productive. Our 8,000+ team is drawn from diverse backgrounds and professions. With operations across six core countries in Africa, we make farmers more prosperous by providing quality farm supplies on credit, delivered within walking distance of farmers’ homes, and agricultural training to improve harvests. About the Role

A Tree Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the delivery of One Acre Fund’s agroforestry program across designated sites while driving impact, financial sustainability and customer service through the districts that you manage. You will ensure the production, enrollment, and distribution of healthy and high-quality soil improving, fruit and timber seedlings, and ensure we reach the target of the farmers that we serve and bring changes to farmer’s life.

You will report directly to Agroforestry specialist and manage 3 – 5 Tree supervisors, and 1-2 Centralized Nursery Officers.

Responsibilities

  • You will oversee the production of high quality seedlings through development and review of training materials, nursery design plan, and management of all the activities involved in seedlings production.
  • You will oversee all the activities involved in Seedling Marketing, Distribution and Training
  • Data Reporting & Data Collection while ensuring the quality of data
  • Team management and support by creating Performance Development Plans for your team.
  • District Financial Sustainability in all areas of your districts.

Qualifications

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

  • Bachelor degree in Forestry, Agriculture, Statistics, Data Management, Community Development or other related field.
  • Team Management experience
  • Technological proficiency (computers, email, tablets)
  • Basic data analysis and interpretation using Microsoft excel
  • 3+ years of experience in Agriculture, Forestry, Environmental or community development.
  • Excellent communication skills; proficient in swahili and business proficient in English
