About the Role:

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our  Team. As a member of this team, you will play a crucial role in supporting project operations in both Tanzania and Uganda. This position offers a unique opportunity for individuals who are flexible, adaptable, and willing to travel frequently between the two countries.

Academic Qualifications:

• B.A. in psychology, Social Services or equivalent

Experience Required:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar environment / counselling

Requirements:

  • Tanzanian or Ugandan nationality preferred.
  • Willingness to travel frequently between Tanzania and Uganda.
  • Ability to work under a rotational schedule with 10 consecutive workdays followed by 2 days off.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing project needs.
  • Prior experience in project support roles is an advantage.

JOB DIMENSIONS/ GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Empower the trainees to reach their fullest potential through 4 main functions:
  • Provide appropriate assistance to the students to overcome their academic difficulties and personal stressors
  • (family, career, social).
  • Determine and facilitate the removal of barriers to learning through an interface between the students,
  • instructors, and management.
  • Enhance the student’s personal development and improve their social skills and team player mindset.
  • Contribute to the application of EACOP’s Operations Training Rules & policies for the student’s welfare.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Student counselling:

• Evaluate students’ overall personal functioning through individual interviews: (family dynamic,

educational background, personal stressors, etc…).

• Conduct guidance meetings with students as deemed necessary and as per the request of Instructors and/or Management to investigate and point out reasons such as medical, social, performance, or attitude, etc., and recommend proper action.

• Conduct individual counselling to help the student increasing his self-understanding and adjustment to achieve his academic and personal goals by building Individual development plan.

Group sessions:

• Conduct group counselling to help the students developing their skills, such as organizational and time management abilities, effective study habits etc…

• Arrange periodic and regular lectures at both the Training Centre and student hostel on various cultural, health, safety, and social subjects to reinforce students social cultural and moral awareness.Exhibit A _ Scope of Work: Administering Operations Training Program Follow up & monitoring:

• Monitor the individual student’s progress and identify concerns that affect his performance, such as classroom attendance rates.

• Give special attention to distinguished and talented students and encourage them by offering recognition.

• Receive the Student Performance Reports (SPR) and follows up taking the appropriate actions in liaise with instructors and management.

• Supervise the works and activities of EACOP’s Ops Training Student Council and help the member students identify their problems and raise them with EACOP’s Ops Training Management on behalf of their fellow students.

• Participate as a member of the Disciplinary Council and ensure that the decisions are applied.

Reporting:

• Prepare weekly, mid-quarterly, and quarterly counsellor reports for Student Services, regarding behavioral, punctuality and academic situations along with actions taken and other related recommendations.

• Coordinate with the instructors/coach/mentors to issue the individual student behavioral appreciation.

Communication:

Foster an environment of mutual trust between the students, instructors and EACOP’s Ops Training Management ensuring a link between different parties and encouraging professional attitude among the students
