Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Sous Chef at GOLD CREST HOTEL, located in Arusha. As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in overseeing the kitchen operations, preparing and cooking meals, and ensuring that food quality and safety standards are met. You will also be involved in menu planning, staff supervision, and maintaining kitchen hygiene.
Qualifications
- Proven experience of more than 5 years as a Sous Chef or relevant role in a high-volume kitchen
- Culinary degree or equivalent.
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Ability to lead and manage a team of kitchen staff
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
- Food safety and sanitation certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for food and creativity in menu development
- Availability to work flexible
