Job Brief
The LOT Site Lifting Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the setup maintenance and movement of all mechanical lifting operations on site to ensure safe and efficient operations. The individual is responsible for coordinating and supervising all mechanical lifting activities in accordance with regulations and is required to be present during all mechanical lifting operations.
Qualifications / Experience Required
• Minimum 10 years in the mechanical lifting industry at the superintendent level
• Technical Engineer and/or industry-related qualifications such as LEEA/OPTIO/EAL/CPA etc
• Broad and extensive knowledge of lifting equipment & operations
• Working to International standards such as BS, LOLER etc
• Experienced in Oil & Gas Industry – an added advantage
• Worked in onshore & offshore operations
• Have working profile such as Slinger/Rigger* Slinger/Rigger Foreman* Slinger/Rigging Supervisor* Lifting Supervisor* Lifting Superintendent
• Risk assessment in relation to health, safety & environment
• Supervision of critical lifts
• Planning of critical and non-critical lifts
• Experience in training and coaching is required
Required Competencies
• Ability to pay attention to detail, especially with risky lifts.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural business environment.
• Required to be systematically and mechanically inclined, in order to use and operate lifting equipment.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Staff management experience (knowledge transfer)
Duties and Responsibilities
• Act as technical advisor of mechanical lifting service
• Promote safe mechanical lifting operation referring HSE policy and international standard
• Manage mechanical lifting and cargo personnel
• Insures the promotion/implementation of LMS and safety culture on-site
• Participates in the definitions of the LMS and participates in the internal audits by EPCmC LTA and/or LS/CPLO
• Anomaly reporting critical lifts reporting to EPCmC LTA and LS/CPLO
• Assess, analyse, plan and advise lifting operations on site regarding procedure and Local rules
• To advise all COMPANY Contractor(s) on objectives and expectations for HSE, accountability and performance for mechanical lifting activity
• Maintain a systematic and methodological approach to mechanical lifting operations, assist EPCmC LTA with establishing a reliable system of documentation, processes and personnel competency assurance
• Ensure flawless operation of mechanical lifting and continuous improvement on sites
• Support development and assessment of mechanical lifting and handling team knowledge in the domain of common mechanical lifting, heavy lifting and handling operations within the context of the remote Sites
• Provides expertise in the field of mechanical lifting operations to support Drilling, Projects and logistics.
• Provide expertise in daily lifting activities including categorization of lifts
• Risk assessment and hazard identification
• Assist EPCmC LTA and/or LS/CPLO in technical review of mechanical lifting operations
• Selection of equipment for mechanical lifting operations
• Performance of toolbox talks
• Post job debriefs
• Assessment of completed jobs
• Periodic review of generic lift plans
• Promote safe lifting operation referring HSE policy and international standard, review engineering calculation for complex and complicated lifts
• Review complicated and complex lift plan and attend the lifts
• Perform condition check and fitness for purpose on lifting appliances, CCUs and evaluate their utilization on site
• Provide lifting expertise advice to all CSR
• To be involved in all lifting audits
• To be involved in plans internal audits of the mechanical lifting operations, participating in mechanical lifting operations incidents and investigation and analyses
• Any other duties assigned by management.
