Job Function

Transfer the containers from truck to yard or vice versa, and updates container positions

Key Performance Areas:

  • Load and unload containers according to instructions.
  • Responsible for the safety and discipline in the work area.
  • Follow move instructions and work area being dispatched from time to time.
  • Consider container door direction when grounding in yard.
  • Check /inspect any defect / damages to the equipment before start of work.
  • Inspect the RTG and fill – in the checklist on weekly basis.
  • Report and engine trouble or other defects during operations to avoid further damage.
  • Initiate proper log-in and log-off on VMT and Terminal Operating System.
  • Update all container movements in the system for grounding and shifting.
  • Ensure containers are placed angle to angle
  • Take special care on trucks with side panels.
  • Ensure that the CT Supervisor or Foreman is present when cross or travelling the RTG.
  • Ensure both runways are clear before travelling the RTG.
  • Undertake routine cleaning of cabin and windows.
  • Ensure safety and correct parking of RTG during bad weather or after operations.
  • Strictly follow the storm and bad weather procedure.
  • Hand-over all necessary information regarding the status of the equipment, VMT unit to the next shift operator.
  • Contribute to achieving the company targets by following QHSE rules and regulations for operating and maintenance procedures related to job activities.
  • Report & respond as appropriate to any hazardous condition/act immediately.

Qualifications Required:

  • Above Intermediate Educational Degree
  • Certified by Bandari College with relevant equipment training
  • Operating License from Bandari College

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Work Experience in terminal operations minimum 2 years in same role
  • Fully Conversant with Safety Procedures
  • Good communication skills
  • Good English language both spoken and written
  • Able to work with group.
  • Able to adapt with the variable work conditions
  • Able to work in shifts
