Job Purpose
- Quality Assurance Technician’s daily tasks consist of performing quality checks at various stages of EEA product such as Incoming quality control, repair, and spare parts production.
- Driving development and implementation of team purpose, principles, and values in alignment with EEA purpose, principles, and values.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a country QA point of contact. Every month, inspect and analyze all the quality-related data in the Power Hub (i.e., Maintenance cases, Revision cases & Customer cases) then escalate all product performance issues to the Warehouse and Workshop Manager and Product Manager, for product improvement.
- Responsible for the quality of all the firmware and software of the tools used in the workshop. Making sure they are updated and working properly.
- Responsible for escalating to the Warehouse and Workshop Manager any new potential defect modes encountered on their first instance for the Technical Support Team to troubleshoot and validate whether the new failure mode is liable to be the result of a manufacturing defect.
- Responsible for overseeing that products and appliance returning from the field are properly assessed and diagnosed with failure/defect mode correctly ticketed on Power Hub prior to being sorted for repair or EOL.
- Tracking of validated manufacturing defects against spares rates in country and escalating them to the Warehouse and Workshop Manager when they exceed issued spares rates.
- Develop, implement, and manage quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production that meets established standards.
- Sampling products to determine whether they meet specifications and quality standards and initiating corrective action if necessary.
- Perform routine inspections and quality tests on products, processes, and materials to verify compliance with industry and safety standards.
- Analyze data from revision cases to identify areas for improvement in the quality system, including troubleshooting product or process failures.
- Coordinate with workshop team to ensure quality standards are understood and integrated into all phases of IQC and spare production.
- Liaising with operations staff to ensure quality issues are addressed and preventative actions are followed.
- Lead training sessions and workshops for staff on quality assurance processes, tools, and standards to foster a quality-centric culture within the organization.
- Maintaining records of quality assurance checks.
- Lean Management: Ensure 6S is effectively implemented and followed by all team members, in the workshop.
- Undertaking any other duties which may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements:
Diploma or University degree in Technical Engineering Management, Industrial Management, or similar fields.
≥2 years of working experience in Technical Operations roles related to EEA Operations (solar technology, battery technology, circuitry, test equipment, solar panels)
Experience with operational improvement techniques (Kaizen and 5s, Six Sigma, etc.) is a plus.
Experience with testing equipment, circuitry, and assembly workflows is an added advantage.
Proficient in spreadsheet and database applications and comfortable with quantitative analysis
Very good planning, organizational and interpersonal skills, team player with analytical capabilities
Language(s):
Fluency in Swahili and English languages with excellent verbal communication skills.
