Q-Sourcing Limited, trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec, is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and South Sudan.

On behalf of our Tanzania based client, we are looking for a competent and experienced Farm Foreman.

Job Overview.

This role involves planning, organizing, and supervising all activities on the farm. Farm foreman is responsible for the general maintenance and management of the farm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Trail plot maintenance: Planning and preparation of farming plots, ensuring production operations in the farm.
• Weed control management: Develop strategies, tools and methods on suppressing weeds on the farm area, ensuring crops can be grown profitably.
• Plot planting: Monitor plot planting and adjust irrigation systems to distribute water according to crop needs, ensuring proper growth of bananas in the farm.
• Applications: Analyze market conditions to determine acreage allocations and examine soil to determine types or quantities of fertilizers required for maximum crop production.
• Labor management: Monitor all workers onsite to perform their duties assigned during working days.
• Farm supervision: Maintain consistent work schedule and fulfill the expected number of working hours.
• Compound maintenance: Responsible for maintenance of production operation compound and other farming implements, ensuring optimal growth of bananas.
• Additional Duties: Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required by the organization.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor Degree in the related field. Masters will be an added advantage.
• Experience: 5-7 years of similar or related work experience, specifically in fruit Quality Assurance (with a focus on bananas).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to use logical or scientific thinking to solve complex problems involving several abstract and concrete variables.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, capable of working effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
