About this Job:

Q-Sourcing Limited, trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec, is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and South Sudan.

On behalf of our Tanzania based client, we are looking for a competent and experienced Employee Relations Manager.

Job Overview.

Builds employee relations capability and enables management effectiveness through the execution of proactive employee relations initiatives and the delivery of targeted training programs. In addition, the incumbent executes HR initiatives at the country level, investigating and resolving issues and conflicts, and concluding collective bargaining agreements in support of the organization’s strategic agenda.

Reporting Line.

The role will report to the HR Director.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision, leadership, involvement. This role will oversee the Employee Relations Processes throughout the organization and ensure that best in class ER practices are implemented.

  • Internal-External Interaction
  • Interactions with CEO and Directors.
  • Interaction with Functional Directors’ Teams.
  • Interactions with representative Unions.
  • Interaction with audit bodies to ensure legislative and governance compliance as it relates to minimum conditions of employment.
  • Interaction with Legislative Authorities to ensure legislative compliance.
  • Interaction with Company Legal and Attorneys.

Key Outputs and Accountabilities

  1. Strategic Employee Relations
  • Develops business-focused ER strategy and aligns execution of the ER strategy and solutions across country.
  1. Employee Relations Procedures, Processes and tools
  • Leads the development and implementation of integrated processes, procedures and tools across country, as appropriate.
  • Develop and manages an internal ER scorecard measuring ER impact.
  • Provides ad hoc Employee Relations advice and guidance, and serves as the ultimate escalation point for Employee Relations issues that the teams cannot resolve themselves.
  1. Employee Relations Capability building
  • Implements employee relations capability in Organization and enables line effectiveness through the execution of proactive employee relations initiatives, and the delivery of targeted training programs.
  • Provides feedback to HR leadership on ER capabilities & needs in the business.
  • Agrees and manages an internal ER scorecard measuring line ER capability.
  1. Collective Bargaining
  • Fosters a collective bargaining environment that supports the delivery of strategy, ensuring direct communication with employees.
  • Leads and manage the integration of Recognition Agreements in country, as appropriate, in line with strategy.
  • Leads and manages the integration of Substantive Agreements and conditions of employment in country, as appropriate, in line with strategy.
  • Timeously concludes collective bargaining agreements in support of the organization’s strategic agenda.
  1. Employee engagement
  • Builds strong, respectful relationships, based on integrity, with all designated stakeholders and employees.
  • Actively promotes a workplace that values diversity.
  • Executes ER initiatives in country, investigating and resolving issues and conflicts.
  • Provides a service to line managers to assist them to manage discipline.
  • Manages interactions with 3rd party contractors, including Attorneys, to provide specialist advice and support, in particular as it relates to Labour Court matters.
  1. Recruitment
  • Support HR team in recruitment process: from job advert design, screening, interviews, selections, to on boarding and reference verifications.
  • Orient new employees on laws, policies, and procedures.

Judgement and decision making

  • Inform and advise HRD of critical decisions with regards to the employee relations and engagement, and ER Strategy

Qualifications:

  • Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s Degree, with post graduate HR qualification, or equivalent.
  • Minimum requirement: 5 – 10 years relevant and hands -on experience in managing people and managing complexity in HR and Employee Relations

Advantage:

  • Post graduate Labour Law qualification
