About Us

PalmPay is a pan-African fintech company currently operating in Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, and Kenya and expanding to other markets. We’re reinventing the payment experience by making it easy and reliable for everyone to get financial services (merchant acquisition, digital lending, etc.).
The Product Manager, Merchant Acquiring, will develop merchant products among key businesses (chain stores, restaurants, supermarkets, FMCG, pharmacy, betting, eCommerce, etc.).
The ideal candidate will be adept at building strong product cases and relationships with key merchants and will be able to identify client demands to promote the organization’s solution and achieve mutual satisfaction.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Familiarize yourself with and master PalmPay’s merchant products (including but not limited to POS, MMO payment, etc.).
  • Serve as the merchant’s product pre-sales manager and cooperate with the business to provide pre-sales support for PalmPay products.
  • Carry out project management for merchant product access projects.
  • Collect information through merchant communication, market research, etc., and promote internal teams to optimize products and upgrade experiences.
  • Monitoring the rules and regulations regarding POS products, card transactions, and electronic payments.
  • Qualifications and Required Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, and other social sciences.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience, including 2+ years of POS product manager experience in banks, PSPs, MMOs, and OEM manufacturers.
  • ●Great knowledge of financial institutions, bank operations, electronic payment processing flows, and the financial networks for processing is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, either internally or externally.
  • Keen attention to details and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Must understand ISO 8583 financial messages.
  • English must be at a at a working level.
  • Provide outstanding customer service.

Key Notes:

●Great knowledge of merchant acquisition, including scheme rules, card processing, card bin management, payment system, recon and settlement, risk control, POS terminals, payment apps, merchant dashboards, etc.
●Prefer candidates from the Card Scheme (Visa, MasterCard), PSP (PesaPal, UBX), and banks (CRDB, NMB, KCB, Equity, ABSA, Stanbic, Exim Bank, and DTB) from the Merchant Acquiring/Product Department.

Projected Daily Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor the success rate of orders.
  2. Handling of transaction anomalies
  3. Cooperate with domestic products for product launch testing and have a deep understanding of payment products such as POS functions.
  4. Collection of competitive product information, such as product capabilities and sales policies
  5. To solve the abnormal problems of the bank and channel
  6. Social media operation, providing IG video and image materials and written copies.
