Job Description
Hostly is a young, fast-growing Holiday-let company based in the UK and Zanzibar, Tanzania.
We have a brilliant & friendly team, based in the Philippines, South Africa, Zanzibar & The UK. Together, we manage a mixture of 45 apartments, houses & villas across both locations, and will be opening a 15-room boutique hotel in Bwejuu in the coming months.
We are now looking for a Property Manager to ensure all our villas and hotel rooms maintain perfect ‘guest ready’ status, through the combination of furnishing replacements, maintenance fixes, and general ‘face-lifts’.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the daily operations of the swimming pool and groundskeeping teams
- Ensuring our pools and grounds are always kept to the highest of standards at all times of the day
- Conducting regular inspections of the pool area and grounds to identify and address any maintenance issues or safety hazards
- Developing and implementing maintenance schedules for pool cleaning, chemical treatment, and equipment servicing to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Monitoring water quality and adjusting chemical levels as needed to maintain optimal conditions
- Overseeing all daily groundskeeping activities such as sand raking, plant watering pruning, & planting, litter picking, etc. to ensure pristine grounds at all times
- Coordinating with vendors and contractors for equipment repairs, landscaping projects, and other maintenance needs
- Training and supervising pool and groundskeeping staff to ensure high standards of performance and professionalism
- Recruitment of new pool attendants and groundskeepers where necessary
Qualifications
- Proven experience and expertise in swimming pool & grounds management – preferably in a similar setting
- Strong knowledge of pool maintenance techniques, chemical treatment procedures, and health and safety regulations
- A strong understanding of various plant types, including what is required for their effective care and maintenance
- Excellent leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple teams and prioritise all actions
- Meticulous attention to detail with a proven track record of maintaining pristine grounds & swimming pools
- A proactive approach in identifying and addressing maintenance issues
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written (English & Swahili) communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests, staff, management and vendors
