Planning Manager

What this position is about – Purpose

The position is responsible for leading planning function to manage supply against demand, machine scheduling, leaf planning , material requirement planning (MRP), Master data maintenance in SAP, direct procurement ensuring effective collaboration between different stakeholders from Factory , Market and Global team. This role also assists Tax stamps management from Factory side, Inventory management adhering to stock norm, stock connectivity on time, completing planning cycle in intergrated business processes (IBP) in accordance with global timeline. Key assistant to Manufacturing Services Manager on Leaf, Production & Material Planning related analysis, projections and related Purchase Requisitions creation.

What will you do – Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning function with expected leadership traits ( Supervise direct reports, define tasks and responsibilities of subordinates, ensure the applicability of business conduct standards, nurture team spirit, motivate to boost up confidence, foster team development and ensure proper evaluation of subordinates)
  • Exhibit good interpersonal communication skill to bridge among Market, Leaf , GSC and global colleagues. Lead the team to deliver factory KPI in collaboration with other departments and ensure energy efficient plan, increase OEE%, write off reduction and drive savings from planning
  • Avoid out of stock situation with proper connectivity of materials. Ensure production continuity in efficient manner with Master data maintenance in SAP and Business flow creation
  • Ensure short term, medium term and long-term planning. Maintain daily/weekly/monthly production planning at all levels, perform analysis and constant follow-ups
  • Plans and schedules factory production activity in consideration to sales forecasts, market trends, materials availability, factory production constraints, so as to result in optimized efficiency and balanced inventories which are in line with Warehouse excelence guidelines
  • Highlight future expansion need with proper Capacity calculation and loading levels.Perform Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) and plan according projects and downtimes/overtime inline with production requirement monthly. Actively participate for effective Annual Strategic Plans (ASP) submission for 3-year horizon
  • Ensure health and safety according to ISO/EHS, 5S3R processes and programs, identify the hazards, assess the risks, and ensure that control measures are implemented to maintain a healthy and safe workplace. Actively demonstrate commitment to health and safety, take immediate steps to correct unsafe workplace conditions or behaviors.

Whom are we looking for – Requirements:

  • Degree in Statistics or Economics or Engineering or any other related field
  • 3-5 years working experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge about the production of cigarettes is added advantage 
  • English and Kiswahili, Advanced Computer skills, SAP and IBP
  • Good Business Understanding
  • High level of integrity
