UBONGO is Africa’s leading producer of kids’ edutainment. As a non-profit social enterprise, we create fun, localized, and multi-platform educational content that helps kids learn, and leverage their learning to change their lives. Ubongo reaches over 32 million kids across Africa through accessible technologies like TV, radio, and mobile phones. Our shows Ubongo Kids, and Akili and Me, currently air in 23 countries across Africa in multiple languages.
POSITION OBJECTIVE supports the commercial and marketing teams in managing and promoting Ubongo’s new merchandise line. This role is ideal for someone passionate about children’s educational content and looking to gain experience in merchandise management, marketing, and operations.
NOTE: This role will be based in Nairobi, KENYA
RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Management
- Assist in, organizing, and maintaining inventory of merchandise.
- Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Update inventory records and prepare reports on stock status.
Logistics Coordination:
- Support the coordination of deliveries to various outlets, including supermarkets, toy stores, online stores, and bookstores.
- Assist in preparing and packing merchandise for shipment.
Sales and Administrative Support
- Set up and manage online store listings, track and report weekly sales figures, and maintain accurate records of sales, deliveries, and customer interactions.
- Respond to customer inquiries, gather feedback for product development and marketing, and assist in preparing reports and presentations for stakeholders.
Company Wide Responsibilities

Physical
- Be capable of taking photos and create videos/use of cameras.
Educational
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for educational content and Ubongo’s mission.
