Job Description
Reports to: Head of Credit Analysis
Department: Credit & Control
Level: Manager
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Analysis of credit proposal by ensuring adherence to the Credit Policy that they meet the Bank’s minimum standards and that a quality portfolio is maintained at all times.
Scope of Duties:
- Analysis of credit proposal for both Corporate and SME clients by ensuring adherence to the Credit Policy i.e. they meet the Bank’s minimum standards and the quality portfolio is maintained at all times.
- Prepare credit reports for new proposals as well as renewals and provide guidance on structuring of credits, due diligence and KYC so as to ensure that credits meet the bank’s standards.
- Provide technical support to the Relationship Managers including coaching to improve quality of the credit proposals recommended for approval.
- Ensure the Turnaround Time is observed without compromising the quality of work/credit applications.
- Understand the risk associated with Individual transactions, Annual review and raising appropriate concerns.
- Conduct client visits jointly with RMs to gain full understanding of Credit Risk and document call reports clearly detailing the account plan.
- Assist on preparation of monthly EXCO reports & quarterly Board Paper reports and any other reports as per requirements.
- Prepare all files that need approval of the Board Credit Approval and respond to all their concerns and queries within specified time, communicate the final decision to RM/Credit documentation.
- Ensure credit files are within the risk grading required by the policy.
- Preparation and monitoring of all loans that have been syndicated with other institutions i.e. financial institutions.
- Response to credit correspondence to customers, auditors and BoT.
- Ensures compliance with Bank’s Credit policy and procedures, ensures that exceptions are properly noted.
- Any other duty assigned by your supervisor.
Technical Know How:
- Risk Management
- Credit Appraisal skills
- Possess strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
- Product knowledge and processes.
- Sufficient knowledge of Banking regulations.
Professional skills & Experience:
- Degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics or any other related field.
- An additional qualification in Banking a plus.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Bank of which at least two years in Credit. Analysis particularly for SME/Corporate clients.
