KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead a team responsible for maintaining equipment according to OEM specifications.
- Organize resources and provide technical advice, leadership as well as guidance to the engineering team.
- Coordinate various engineering functions and operations including mobile fleet management, maintenance, and skills transfer.
- Identify critical spares required for daily maintenance activities underground.
- Perform over – inspections according to the maintenance requirements and ensure preventative maintenance and compliance.
- Perform fault finding and apply corrective measures in order to solve breakdowns.
- Ensure that defects noted on pre-start checklists, breakdown sheets and over-inspection reports are attended to.
- Analyze and interpret maintenance related data and initiate required improvements.
- Provide relevant feedback to the Supervisor and co- workers on equipment performance, conditions and carry out scheduled and non-scheduled repairs as required.
- Follow up on outstanding maintenance repairs.
- Ensure effective communication to relevant stakeholders to minimize production delays.
- Performing statutory testing and inspections on all electrical distribution systems.
- Ensure that health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Adhere to policies and safety procedures.
- Upholding of safety, health and environmental standards to achieve ZERO HARM.
- Investigate, diagnose, and perform trade related maintenance and repair of equipment according to the required standard.
- Report to the mobile fleet maintenance Foreman on all planned and unplanned work.
- Ensure handover process happens between the shifts.
- May be required to perform additional duties and tasks required by your supervisor.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant Trade Certificate Auto Electrical / Heavy Mechanic
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Sound knowledge in the maintenance, repairs and fault finding of the following equipment: Drill Rigs (DD321, DD420, DD421 & DD422i), Long Hole (DL321, DL421 and DL331), Cable Bolters (DS421 & DS422i), LHD (LH410, LH514, LH517i & LH621i), Dump Trucks (TH545i, TH551i & TH663i), Normet Charmec MC605, Shotcrete Machine LF050DC, Volvo IT and Maclean Agicars etc.
- Experience needed on all mobile equipment for maintenance purposes.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Supervisor/Foreman/Leading Hand.
- Knowledge and application of safe and reliable mechanical maintenance practice to maximize equipment availability and productivity.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge and exposure to Sandvik I series & Normet Machines
- Exposure to industry best preventative maintenance regimes is imperative to ensure machinery and equipment and other assets are maintained to high level of availability, and in accordance with company policies at all times.
- The ability to prioritize repairs and take instruction in order to reduce downtime and delays is foremost in maximizing machine availability and operator utilization.
- Ability to comprehend OEM manuals, diagrams and drawings is essential in performance of this role.
- Proven experience managing and training a team of maintenance personnel to high standards Valid Driver’s
