GSE Team Leader will will perform preventive and corrective maintenance to all types of GSE (Ground Support Equipment) and other fleet vehicles in order to provide a safe, reliable and cost-effective fleet to end-users. To support and deputize the GSE Manager by assisting GSE technicians and Jr. GSE Technicians in diagnosis and complex repairs.

Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance to all types of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and fleet vehicles whilst ensuring the highest quality standards.
  • Identifies faults/defects of systems or sub-systems like hydraulics, pneumatics, brakes, air conditioning, etc. and performs repairs including overhauling of major components such as engine, transmission, hydraulic pump\motor, compressor, etc. if required.
  • Monitors maintenance activities of GSE technicians and workshop assistants and assists with diagnosis and complex repairs.
  • Assists GSE Manager in inspection of completed maintenance actions.
  • Utilizes reference materials such as drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics, and technical publications during the maintenance process.
  • Uses automated maintenance data systems to document repair actions and monitor maintenance trends.
  • Ensures that all work performed or activities that occurred during the work shift are accurately documented and forwarded to the workshop office at the end of the shift or otherwise as instructed by management.
  • Practices good housekeeping, tool control, and safety at all times.
  • Develop lower skilled staff with on the job training.
  • Provide accurate technical reports to the supervisor as required.
  • Liaise with Duty Managers to constantly improve the repair/maintenance process.
  • Deputize workshop supervisor.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Line Manager

Safety

  • Ensure that safety briefings are conducted regularly while intervening when there is a risk exposure, role model safe behaviours and follows up on corrective actions.
  • Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and control to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Ensure safety of staff that they have the skills, knowledge and confidence to work safely by providing support, directions, being a role model for the desire safety behaviours and leading with safety.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining GSE and Fleet Vehicles in an active airport environment
  • High School Qualification with Minimum 5 years of job-related experience
  • Able to obtain Basic Airside Driving Course 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
