Job Description

We are currently looking for dynamic, and self-motivated Business Development with Sales Background professionals who want to move their careers forward.

Under the guidance of the General Manager, you are responsible to implement all sales plans activities and maximize property’s business opportunities. You are also responsible to lead the property’s MICE business and be supportive in the implementation of the segment sales strategy and achieve segment revenue goals, overall property goals and guests’ satisfaction.

The Director of Business Development is the main link between the property and Area Sales Office and you conduct all day-to-day activities related to the sales function with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of property sales objectives.

General Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Serve and maintain relation with hotel’s top 50 producing accounts through various sales and marketing action (face-to-face sales calls, entertainment show around) either alone or through coordination with Area Sales Office Accounts Manager or jointly with the same
  • Set-up and execute property sales plan along with the Executive Committee addressing revenue, customers’ needs and the market
  • Work with the General Manager and the Area/Outbound Sales Offices to ensure understanding of sales strategy and effective implementation of this strategy for the Hotel
  • Direct and manage the forecasting process in conjunction with the Revenue Department to ensure accurate, timely and complete information
  • Assist in the development, implementation and sustaining of aggressive solicitation program focused on increasing business
  • Handle and follow-up on specific leads and bookings (MICE business, events)
  • Establish and maintain an active relationship with our main bookers from Professional Conference Organizers, Destination Management Companies, MICE Departments of Travel Agencies and Tourism Authority to increase customer satisfaction and business
  • Analyze market information and implement strategy to achieve property’s financial room and catering goals
  • Execute exemplary customer service to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customer and ensuring their satisfaction before and during their program / event
  • Review sales and catering guest satisfaction results to identify areas of improvement
  • Work collaboratively with off-property sales channels (e.g., OSO, ASO) to ensure the property needs are being achieved and the sales efforts are complementary, not duplicate
  • Attend MICE Exhibitions and Meeting Industry Events
  • Maintain all the times up to date information on competitor rates, SWOT analysis, promotions and strategies and an up to date data base of property with details on accounts/contract information
  • Create robust accounts development plan for property top ten accounts by segment
  • Attend property’s daily morning briefing, weekly departmental head meeting, revenue meetings  and any other meeting as instructed by property General Manager
  • Attend weekly briefing in the Area Sales Office as directed by the Area Director of Sales
  • Operate in a safe and environmentally friendly way to protect guests’ and colleagues’ health and safety, as well as protect and conserve the environment
  • Comply with the hotel environmental, health and safety policies and procedures

Skills

Education, Qualifications & Experiences

You should ideally have a degree in hospitality with previous experiences in the Sales Department within a hotel.

Excellent written and verbal English communication skills and knowledge in an additional language, along with strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities are essentials. Computer literate and previous experiences with Opera are an advantage.
