Purpose of the Position

This is a key position within our in-market marketing teams where you are required to devise and develop an effective digital marketing plan/strategy to acquire and retain new subscribers across our DStv product portfolios as well as our Content Channels and Value Added brands and services.

You will be part of a team of highly motivated passionate team and will be expected to deliver to hard P&L impacting KPIs. The role will be responsible for successfully planning, analysing, recommending and implementing multi-channel marketing strategies to meet marketing goals. The Digital Marketing Manager will help create marketing plans to bridge web, email, mobile, social and traditional advertising together. Also, you will be required to generate and deliver marketing strategies in the digital arena and campaigns, across various mediums to increase sales leads. The role is entirely focused on a program of work execution and closely tracking performance to tweak campaign – be the on-the-ground resource supporting campaign implementation and adjusting them to optimize their performance.

The position works closely with the corporate marketing teams, sales teams, public relations, communications, customer service, research to help leverage the acquisition and development of the DStv brand, and drive a annual plan and roadmap integrated with content marketing, brand, PR, social, customer experience and digital.

A key measure of success will be the operational delivery within optimization and standardized ways of working processes.

Key Performance Objectives

  • Oversee all digital marketing production processes from brief to delivery
  • Execute on all digital and social media campaign
  • Deliver on Digital assets where necessary as part of campaign delivery.
  • To Promote a positive brand image that will lead to an increase in the overall subscriber base throughout the Africa
  • Drive brand awareness, consideration, acquisition and positive customer behavior
  • Drive Customer education, Self Service awareness and usage through marketing campaigns
  • Drive awareness of packages offered as well as upgrades and downgrades
  • Drive Awareness and usage of VAS services/products and other digital platforms across all spheres
  • Drive retail/point of sale branding and marketing collateral

Key tasks

  • Design digital media campaigns according to business goals
  • Coordinate and manage the creation of all digital content such as website, blogs, press releases and podcasts, infographics, videos etc.
  • Liaise with Marketing, Sales and Product development teams
  • Suggest strategies and methods for improvement
  • Regularly track and get insights into competitors’ strategies
  • Stay up-to-date with digital media technologies and latest trends
  • Responsible for managing the content calendar and planning out campaigns to ensure that the broader business has visibility of the suite of digital marketing (and social) activity that digital is running.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Marketing/Digital media
  • 3 years experience preferably in a customer-facing organisation

Technical Competencies (List the key technical competencies)

  • Understanding and experience in the use digital tool and social media marketing
  • Knowledge and understanding of digital software tools
  • Project management skills
