SUMET is a fast-growing Tech-enabled distribution company transforming the process of new product launches, building credit scoring to provide BNPL to retailers and wholesalers.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Credit Controller Leader at SUMET located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The Credit Controller Leader will be responsible for managing credit control activities, overseeing credit management operations, conducting debt collection activities, and managing debtors. The role also involves financial tasks and responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Building and leading the credit-controlling executive team
- Contributing to the company credit policy creation and updating
- Building the company customer KYC
- Monitoring the customer payment behaviors
- Ensuring the involvement of technology to build a self-development credit scoring system for customer evaluations
- Engage with the credit collection manager to reconcile customer issues
- Evaluating new customers and allocating the proper credit level and eligibility
- Monitoring debtor balances to ensure a reduction in debtors
- Ensuring credit and collection policies and procedures are followed within your team
- Liaising with customers, as well as internal personnel including the sales team
- Reporting to the upper management the credit landscape dynamics
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Professional certification in credit management is a plus
- +5 years of experience in credit controlling job
- +2 years of experience in leading a team
- Working in credit banking is preferred
- Strong knowledge in ERP systems is preferred
- Credit Control and Credit Management skills
- Experience in debt collection
- Knowledge of financial operations and processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in relevant software and systems
