Job Description

Making Cents International is recruiting for a Chief of Party (CoP) for an anticipated Task Order under the Compliance and Capacity to Support Diverse Partnerships (CCSDP) IDIQ to support capacity strengthening of local organizations in Tanzania. The CoP will be responsible for supervising the implementation of the Work Plan, providing quality control of products and services prepared by the Contractor’s team and subcontractors, and providing expert guidance to USAID. The CoP will serve as the principal liaison with USAID staff, local institutions, and other stakeholders to exchange information and develop professional relationships, including verbal and written presentations as requested by the Contracting Officer or the Contracting Officer’s Representative to varied audiences.   

This position is contingent upon winning a contract award. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Provide strategic oversight and technical direction for the project.
  • Oversee technical and management inputs to ensure achievement of project objectives.
  • Provide planning and quality control of all deliverables.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with USAID, partners, and other key stakeholders. 
  • Oversee all project operations, staff, and subcontractors.
  • Develop scopes of work and support the recruitment of short-term consultants, as needed.

Required Qualifications:  

  • Minimum of a master’s degree in international development or another relevant discipline.
  • 10 years of experience overseeing complex international development programs, particularly with diverse partners and organizations.
  • Experience working in Tanzania or similar contexts in the region.
  • Understanding of USAID localization policies and organizational risk assessment and capacity building tools. 
  • Experience providing direct support to local partners, USAID missions, and DC-based operating units.
  • Experience recruiting and managing consultants and sub-contractors and overseeing quality control.
  • Ability to build and motivate diverse teams with proven leadership, interpersonal, and intercultural skills.
  • Written and oral fluency in English.
