The Role:

We are seeking an energetic and strategic Business Development Manager to lead our efforts in expanding coverage and significantly growing our market share in the Compressed air industry in Tanzania. The successful candidate will work closely with sales engineers to visit industrial hubs and customers, generating sales leads and driving business growth. This role also involves enhancing our digital presence, collaborating with distributors, and leading a team of competent sales engineers. The Business Development Manager will propagate company culture, instill urgency in sales activities to boost order intake, and monitor competitor activities to inform strategic countermeasures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of at least 5 years in business development, sales, or a similar role in the industrial machines supply sector.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in digital marketing strategies and tools.
  • Ability to analyze market trends, competitor activities, and develop strategic plans.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Tanzania.
  • Market Expansion:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to expand market coverage in Tanzania.
  • Visit industrial hubs and customers with sales engineers to generate sales leads and establish strong relationships.
  • Sales Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of skilled sales engineers to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Instill a sense of urgency and proactive approach in the sales team to increase order intake and market penetration.
  • Digital Presence:
  • Enhance the company’s digital presence through effective online marketing strategies and social media engagement.
  • Utilize digital tools to reach a wider audience and generate leads.
  • Distributor Collaboration:
  • Collaborate closely with existing distributors to enhance their capabilities and increase market presence.
  • Develop joint strategies and initiatives to grow the business through distributor networks.
  • Competitive Intelligence:
  • Monitor and analyze competitor activities in the market.
  • Share insights and intelligence with the management team to develop effective counterstrategies.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
  • Foster strong, long-term relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and address any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Cultural Propagation:
  • Promote and propagate the company’s culture and values within the team and broader market.
  • Lead by example to create a positive, motivated, and high-performing work environment.
